How to care for your wound following a biopsy or curettage:
- A bandage has been placed over the site(s). Leave this in place for 24 hours.
- Cleanse the area(s) daily with soap and water. You may shower or bathe.
- Apply Vaseline and keep covered with a bandaid.
- Change dressing daily until area has healed.
- If bleeding is noted, apply pressure to the area for 15 minutes by the clock. If this does not stop the bleeding please call the office.
- Tylenol (acetaminophen) can be taken for pain if needed.
- If a biopsy was taken, your results will be here in approximately two weeks.
PLEASE NOTE: Charges for laboratory work (biopsy, cultures, blood work) are billed separately and not included in the bills you recieve from the doctor’s office. If you have any questions or problems regarding your laboratory bill, please contact the laboratory directly.
